INDIVIDUALS
- I had turned my back on God. I held a lot of hatred and bitterness from my childhood. I was able to forgive him, the person who hurt me, and let go of all the hatred. Now I feel the love of God so strongly. If you have trouble forgiving, give it to God.
- I had to forgive myself for many things. The forgiveness service gave me a chance to do that. I needed God’s forgiveness and to realize that it was not all about me. I know now that Jesus is my brother. He gave me more freedom than I have ever experienced before.
- The forgiveness service was so important. I forgave myself. I came looking for answers. I finally found it. I had been hiding behind a wall, a mask. There was a hole in my life and I had filled it in all the wrong ways. Now I’m in Jesus’ life!
- I got to see God, how He showed up and made things work out in people’ lives. It is a new beginning.
- To GOD be the glory.
- Be encouraged. God is with us. He’ll never leave us. “Trust me.” Lean on Him. I had total cleansing in my life. I’m not afraid of it. Who am I to judge others?
- I came in feeling along, ashamed, and forgotten. I’m leaving with God in my heart, with sisters, and family.
- I’m known as a big jokester. I don’t want you to know what is going on in me. I won’t give you a chance to hurt me. God’s the only one who can judge us. If He can bless us with so much food, think of all the blessings He can give!
- I was afraid and hiding. I didn’t want to show my hurt. But I found family. A place where it is OK to hurt and cry. There is always somebody there to help me, to hold my hand.
- This was wonderful. God put me here to meet more people and open up. Maybe I could be nice, let others help me.
FOURTH DAY SPEAKER (former Kairos graduate)
Kairos is fresh, a new beginning. The old falls away so we can accept new blessings. As I look back on myself when I came to Kairos, I didn’t know what it was. I was angry; I felt unworthy.
The love of the volunteers poured out and countered my loneliness. How could they do it? Why did they love us? We are different. We are not perfect. My life can be as Christ-filled as theirs. The Forgiveness service was very important for me.
Now the weekend is over. Love goes on. You’ve changed, not the world. We can act more like Christ. For example, someone put soap in a soda I had bought. Luckily I swirled it before I took a drink and I saw the bubbles. My old self would have wanted revenge, but I put on the armor of God and didn’t let the Devil have his way. The Devil will come at you in many ways.
This is only the beginning of your sisterhood in Christ. We need to b here for each other and continue with Prayer and Share.
Forgiving makes our life so much smoother.

Kairos is a ministry of the church ... a ministry of the apostles whom Jesus, the Christ, has called into community and sent forth into the environment of the correctional institution. Kairos has been called the best example of the early church in existence today. We welcome all Christian brothers and sisters into this special ministry of God's. Learn more about Kairos.
Kairos Mission Statement
The mission of Kairos Prison Ministry is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.
If you wish to obey the Lord's call to "visit those in prison" without physically going in to a prison yourself, you may do so by serving this ministry in other ways. Some of these include: Serving on Outside Support Team (kitchen, runners, helpers, etc), Sponsor an Inmate, a Table or an Entire Weekend (absorb financial cost of weekend), Bake Cookies, Provide Posters or Placemats (this is a GREAT service project for children and the Inmates love to receive children's art), Prayers for Kairos, Pray for Inmates attending the weekend, Attend a Kairos Closing Ceremony. |
Inside Kairos teams include Inside Team Members (laypeople), Musicians and Clergy. We are always looking for female Clergy and female Musicians - especially those with guitar and/or keyboard skills.
GOD is doing amazing things; restoring lost lives to His kingdom. Those working with this special ministry have received incredible blessings in their lives. We would love to have you join us as we serve with our brothers and sisters in Christ, on this important work of God's.
